its been eons since i last blogged here... well... time to dust off of the mites that are crawling ard on my blog... =)
hmmm... i'm feeling kinda sick now... my nose is on a marathon... i'm having a runny nose... i'm sneezing.... the tissue is my best companion now... =( spend my afternoon huddled up on the sofa watching a dvd which my friend lent me... pearl harbour... ya... i guess most ppls have caught it long ago... but i've yet to watch it... was kinda cool watching the pilots doing dogfights and seeing patriotic pilots taking to the skies... a brief tot of reminder came to my mind while i watched the scene.... *i need to go to the areomedical centre this coming weds 2nd of nov...
yup... long weekend coming up... looking forward to it... its been sometime since i last had a real break... a real long break... well... not that 3 daes is exactly that long... but at least in the army... in my unit... its considered a luxury... i never had a three daes break like that... furthermore next week will be quite an easy week... will be learning the P90 and P7 pistols on mon... tues wed and thurs long break... fri going for live firing... den sat... haiz... guard duty... i'm will be flying off on the 27th... thats y i need to do guard duty... well... its my first guard duty...
hmm... i jus had my live firing on thurs and yesterdae... it was my first time firing so many different weapons... the most memorable will be firing of the 84mm... its reallie a very powerful weapon... its an anti tank weapon... and its reallie heavy... i route march with it the other dae i almost die-ed... the blast of that weapon is loud... and i can feel the shock wave compressing my chest when the round was fired... and i fired it not once... but twice... one was with training round and the other LIVE round... i also fired a handflare to brighten up the night sky so that we could see our target... it was reallie beautiful... its jus like fire works... jus that its only one bright dot falling from the sky which lights up the whole place... i also fired machine guns... grenade launchers... multiple grenade launchers...
it started to rain suddenly that night... and all of us were drenched... ya... it was a heavy downpour and the feeling of being dripping wet and cold in the jungle sucks... still can remember during my sit test the other time... the very first time we conducted a sit test... there was a turnout... we were all suddenly woken at ard 2am by thunderflashes... and we had to run to grab our equipments and den we were made to leopard crawl across a field.... the feeling is as if ur still in dreamland... ur woken up from ur sleep and suddenly made to do all this crawling and running... it was certainly an experience...
i've been in the army for quite a few mths now... i've completed some trainings... my airbone training... during which i had a chance to talk to ghurkas... those stylo mylo guys whom u see standing outside embassies with a cowboy kinda hat... normally i would pass by them on my way to sch last time... i've always tot they were fierce merciless ppls... but after talking to them they were actuallie quite nice ppls... most of them have families in singapore... i asked y they needed to come for airborne training too... they said only selected few will be airborne trained... my course had a mixture of us... the ghurkas... and the star team... which is the police special forces...
now i've completed my parachute jumps... i've earned my silver wings.... maybe i will be called up to do my combat equipment jump... when i was presented with the silver wings it was a moment of pride... but i tot to myself... it will be better if the wings were not silver but gold.... gold wings... pilot wings... tts wat i reallie want...
