time check... 1.53am... its nearing 2am now...
guess i should be in bed now... yup... i'm feeling quite lerthargic now... kinda sleepy... well... but i guess i will jus do some blogging...
alrite.. lets see... i woke up kinda late todae... hmm.. i should say very late... i woke up at 4pm todae... yup... been ages since i sleep for so long... i really tired wen i came home on fridae... so wen i went to bed on fri nite... i jus wen into deep slumber till 4am todae...
booked out on fri 6pm... saw my dad and sis going for a jog on my way home... yup... the army ppls gave us a break because of the field camp... i jus completed my field camp... came back from tekong on thurs during the wee hours... yup... was super duper tired... so tired tt i could even sleep in the file... which basically means i slept standing up... standing in the ranks... was also sleeping on the ferry back to singapore... and also on the bus back to camp... i guess i was really tired...
the whole field camp lasted 12 daes... which is much longer than those guys in normal BMTC camp in tekong... we cdos have a 12 dae field camp... which means we stayed out in the jungle for 12 daes... no bathing... no proper toilet... and eating combat rations... well we did bathe 2 times... ya onlie 2 times in 12 daes... imagine sleeping in muddy uniform in the "tent" onlie bathing 2 times in 12 daes... but i was tired each dae after training to care abt my muddy uniform... i jus sleep each time it was time to turn in...
hmm... during tt 12 daes in out in the open... i learnt quite some stuff... some tactical movenments.. handsigns... fired live rounds... threw a live grenade... which was reallie an experience for me... holding a live grenade in ur hand is no joke... its reallie something which u need confidence... the explosion of a live grenade is loud...
live firing... it was quite a disapointment for me... i did well for my night shoot test... of the 15 rounds i fired... i only missed one... but the next dae... during my day shoot... i forgot to bring my gas regulator to the range and resulted in me shooting very badly... my usual practice was all on average 13 rounds on target out of 15 rounds i fired... i was aiming for marksmanship... but well... due to my negligence... i had to settle for a pass... =|
hmm... field camp was actuallie on the whole quite okie for me... i've been to loads of camps since my sec sch daes... so camping in the open was okie for me... but sometimes i jus felt i miss my usual comfortable life...
during my stay at tekong i saw those ppls in tekong camp... they were having a life different from us... thier life in tekong was much better den mine... the ppls there have spring materess... and we have sponge materess... they have a restroom with tv... sofa... soccertable... careme table... and us? none of the above... we march to the firing range... they take the transport to the range... our trainings are differnt from the ppls in tekong... it tougher...
and on the last dae... we marched out from our camp site to the jetty... we were supposed to be using the transport out... all the other platoons used the transport... but my platoon is the only enthu platoon which marched all the way out to the jetty... and its not a very short distance... and its not jus marching... its marching carrying a full load... together with our rifle.. helmet and sbo... at least a few kgs of load on our shoulders... and it was after one whole dae of training... everyone felt tired but we pushed on... we pushed on to the jetty... our motativation was tt we were going to the jetty... we were going home...
okie.. i'm sleepy now... signing out....
